The Power of 5
Human beings have five fingers, five toes, five appendages, five senses, and five major systems of the body. In order to protect humanity, we have a list of 5 things we need to follow that will keep our clients and employees safe from the spread of COVID-19.
- #1: Wash hands frequently. It may seem like a simple task, but this is one of the most important things in helping to keep caregivers and their clients safe from the spread of COVID-19.
- #2: Disinfect surfaces routinely. Caregivers are trained to regularly clean surfaces to be sure their client’s home remains clean.
- #3: Check clients for fever/symptoms daily. Caregivers regularly check clients for a fever and ask them if they are having any symptoms related to COVID-19, including but not limited to a cough and a sore throat.
- #4: Maintain a safe distance always. Though caring for each client uniquely, caregivers practice social distancing when possible.
- #5: Check in regularly. Some patients will be experiencing loneliness or disconnection. Therefore, caregivers regularly check in with them to make sure they are doing well.
As we manage through these challenging times, our employees continue to display compassion, commitment, and courage in providing care to those most vulnerable in our community. Our nursing assistants and nurses are truly “healthcare heroes”. We are so blessed to work with them, employ them, and to be able to serve you and your family’s needs at home with their faithful care. They are the heart of what we do.
